Country folk trio Crosby Lane is comprised of singer-songwriters Tonja Rose, John Lemonis, and Michaela Lemonis, having taken their band name from prolific hymn writer Fanny Crosby. Their debut album ‘Story & Song’ arrived in 2014, leading to national airplay and TV appearances, and this past December they followed it up with new record ‘Crucified’. Soon after the release they unveiled the music video for the title track, the project’s lead single.
Dripping in southern roots, the acoustic guitar, dobro, mandolin and cajun join the group’s smooth harmonies for a tune about coming to Jesus and being born anew. The video is kept simple, featuring the trio playing and singing around a handful of lit candles, while surrounded by darkness. The whole clip is shot in dull sepia too, making it extra effective.
