A part of me wants to write about the sinister qualitues administered on this track...however the other outstanding qualities need to be heard or read. In doing so, Son of Dave adjusts a bright fullfilled picture on thesong 'Voodoo Doll'. Given that beatboxing, harmonica, vocal pitches, oddities in vocal presence and a funky New Orleans swamp beat...all of these acquired tastes are here for the taking. 'Voodoo Doll' acts out in a Screamin' Jay Hawkins way yet without trying to sound out as some half-assed cover.
The fully functional tuning Son of Dave appears to send out, gravitates towards a playfull and devil may care vibrational...something must akin to those American Horror Story episodes that tested your gory intake. As wellas adding a punch button to the killer smirk, which can be heard in 'Voodoo Doll'.
Son of Dave presents a song much more capable than merely to spin around on your turntable. 'Voodoo Doll' is a work of art decorated in pins and needles.
