The Collective Bus is the alternative-rock brainchild of Daniel Correa, successful composer of afro-cuban inspired alt-rock that weaves in socio-political commentary. His singles, “Don’t Stop”, "Fold it Back” and “Take A Chance,” have all climbed Billboard charts, allowing his band to tour the country both in person and virtually.
The Miami based musician credits much of his musical expertise to his mentors, the award-winning composers Chris Boardman (The Color Purple) and Carlos Rivera (Godless & A Walk Among the Tombstones). Under their guidance, Daniel perfected his songwriting and contemporary composition abilities.
The Collective Bus’ latest single, “Take Time,” beautifully encapsulates Daniel’s talent in writing eloquent lyrics and developing compelling melodies. The track opens with gentle acoustic guitar and Daniel’s raw voice. Slowly, the track builds emotion as bass instrumentation layers atop soft drum rolls. By the end of the track, Daniel cries out to the listener that “we aren’t blind to this,'' that “we can’t just sit and take time” -- a nudge against staying quiet in the face of struggle.
