On 10th June 2016, Welsh alternative rock band JayCee released their most awaited debut EP. The young band showed us their originality and talent through this debut and set the bar high for themselves. Track listing1. Intro2. You Never Really Knew Me3. Trust Me (You’ll Be Fine)4. Set Me Free
EP2 starts with a 51 seconds long “Intro”, which is very appealing especially if you like a heavier alternative rock. It also sucks you into JayCee‘s sound. You know it’s going to be a good one when you hear intros like this. The second track “You Never Really Knew Me” is a fast-paced song with an edgy mood and is crafted with many elements of what the quartet are all about. Then, the third track “Trust Me (You’ll Be Fine)” moves you into more positive vibes, and is also up-tempo. I am not quite sure if it is Johnny or Joe, but the change of vocal style since their debut EP is noticeable.
The final track “Set Me Free” begins with a melancholic guitar solo. As all the instruments and vocals join in, you realize this song is huge. I think this track represents the band at their very best. I also think that the producer James Weaver shows his musical tastes and skills most with this track, and they seem to have a great partnership. Overall, I am thrilled by JayCee releasing EP2 which demonstrates their increased levels of maturity and accomplishment.
