One-man band Salvia Palth, in the track I Was All Over Her from melanchole, comes a title that is undoubtedly shoegaze, sings of the connections that we have we with others:
Don't know what I wanted, I have a memory
Back at that party I was all over her
We didn't make out or do anything
I just remember I was lonely
I guess I am always, it's not a problem
It's just something, I got used to it
Every stranger makes me feel safer
And every person seems more beautiful

The entirety of his emotions is covered in the above two paragraphs of lyrics. These lyrics, deceptively simple, bring forth the hidden depths of how humans sometimes need only a simple connection in order for them to feel as though they were meaningful. There is not much that they need to do to establish such a connection.
The persona feels the loneliness that permeates the air but does not feel the sadness that comes with it and instead has an acceptance of what it truly is.
