What I first heard about the band The Big Moon was that they were essentially the female Arctic Monkeys. Okay, well let's actually give this band a bit more respect on that front. Nothing against the Arctic Monkey's but The Big Moon has a solidarity of courageous sound pumping through their songs.
The Big Moon are a four piece all female band consistent (as stated on The Big Moon's Facebook Page) Juliette, Soph, Celia, and Fern. Currently stationed on Fiction Records and operating out of London.
Cupid asks the question and offers an answer of 'Sorry I'm not your guy but I've been waiting for a girl like you'. An openly clever letter to all our Valentine hearts desires. Whether Cupid is a fictional rule of thumb or an actual reality-based tonic, The Big Moon throw their arms in the air and tie up their dreams in the romance of hitting the right target, that is this time around.
In the music video for Cupid directed by Louis Bhose shows the band at first playing the song as normal. Then as the chorus comes through a hailstorm of confetti, paint, streamers and party favors fly into the shot. After a lot of yawning before the confetti explosion, it seems that all of these substances thrown upon them wakes them up out of their Cupid-less stupor. Maybe in retort to the individual which Cupid had once picked for them, to be now thrown out of the picture and introducing a new love interest. Once the chorus kicks into full gear, the band is bombarded with flour, what looks like pineapple juice boxes, more paint, and other food substances. Bringing a smile to each member and playful banter amongst the realization of a Cupid induced haze.
