Psychedelic rockers The Vryll Society released La Jetee back in April and firmly established themselves as one of Liverpool’s most exciting emerging bands.
La Jetee, a sixties French pop aesthetics release inspired by Chris Marker’s 1962 post-apocalyptic vision of Paris, drew more attention to the five-piece and arrived in conjunction with their extensive UK headline tour.
The Liverpool band’s melodic, psychedelic/space rock sound has lead to comparisons with Spacemen 3, The Horrors, The Verve and The Stone Roses and with an already well-built fan base and reputation under their belts, it’s not surprising Deltasonic Records had so much faith when signing them.
With Mike Ellis’ ethereal vocals occupying territory from Neu and Air to early Verve and Stone Roses, they undoubtedly deliver a unique blend of styles which they are making their own.
Ann Heston, label manager of Deltasonic and manager of The Vryll Society, said: “The Vryll Society are a band who want to push boundaries and share their wonderful music with as many people as possible and are astounding their live audiences wherever they go”.
