LR Blitzkrieg Perspective on Last Leg (feat. Substantial & Qaasim)
Brooklyn native LR Blitzkrieg is a cornerstone of New York City Hip Hop. For
decades, the emcee and graphic designer has operated as an essential architect
behind the scenes, as the "connect," fueling the trajectories of some of the
industry's most respected artists while cementing his own status as a cultural
staple.
Whether through the high-energy performances of his three-man group Hydra or
founding the underground super-crew The Plague (now MCMI), Blitz has always
been a curator of elite lyricism. The collective’s ranks have featured a legendary
roster, including Tonedeff, PackFM, GMS, Keith “WildChild” Middleton, Mecc
Rashawn, Substantial, Mic King, the late PH/PumpkinHead (RIP), as well as
heavyweights MC Jin and Canibus in the past.
In the early 2000’s Blitz’s days were spent as a marketing strategist at Iced Media
working on marketing campaigns and online community building for artist like
Aaliyah, T.I, Alicia Keys, and campaigns like Truth.com’s anti smoking initiative.
Blitzkrieg’s entrepreneurial spirit defined an era of New York nightlife. Through
Stormtroopers Ent., Blitz and childhood friend GMS transformed celebrated
venues like Cheetah, NV, Lotus, Joe’s Pub, and The Limelight into Hip Hop
sanctuaries. These weekly events were anchored by legendary DJs such as
Funkmaster Flex, Cassidy, Tony Touch, Evil Dee, Goldfinger, Rich Medina, and
many others.
Today, Blitz is focused on his solo music career, collaborating with a "who’s who"
of super MC’s, including Nems, M.O.P., Planet Asia, .38 Spesh, and Grammy
Award-winning producer Nottz. Under his MCMI media brand, he oversees MCMI
Records, MCMI Apparel, and co-founded the live event series The Craft.
Teaming up with his longtime friends Mic King, Tonedeff, and PackFM, they have
merged their decades of experience in music, business, design, and promotional
savvy—along with a shared affinity for a well made cocktail, to deliver the ultimate
Hip Hop experience.
