Doug Rice Perspective on Down That Country Road
I'm a country artist born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Canada. I've been in music most of my life and after taking a pause in my career for (6) years I'm loving being back and writing my own music.
This songs special, it's a dedication to my father who not only got me into the business at an early age but kept my on the road of writing, producing and staying true to country with a rock and roll influence.
I've been playing since the age of 14, professionally since 16 . Becoming an artist didn't happen until much later in life, my mid 30's and writing and composing is something I love doing.
This release and most of my music play into country and rock. I love putting the two of them together.
That's a easy answer it would be George Straight or Allan Jackson. Two of my biggest influences.
This ones definately my favorite along with Hot Rod Lincoln, a song I loved redoing not once but twice.
This songs about reflection, although its my journey in music it translates to just abot anybody who's struggled staying on a path in their life.
Homegrown country artist
My most embarrasing moment, on stage introducing someone and insted of saying folks here's ... I actually said well farts... needless to say silence filled and audience of 16,000 people before I recovered.
If it was anything it's how music brings emotions out in people and how a song can be so different to so many people. If it doesn't relate it not worth writing.
