I'm Devan, a Mississippi-based country-rock artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. I write, record, and produce my music from my home studio, The Upper 309. Music has always been a part of my life, and I'm passionate about creating songs that tell honest stories and connect with people on a real level.

I've always been drawn to songs that tell the truth about life, relationships, and the emotions that come with them. "Over You" comes from that place. Absolutely. When I was younger, practice was mostly about becoming a better musician and learning techniques. Today, it's more focused on serving the song. I spend time working on vocals, instruments, songwriting, production, and recording. As I've grown, I've learned that practice isn't just about playing better—it's about communicating emotion more effectively.

Success isn't just about numbers. Of course, streams, followers, and opportunities are important, but real success is creating music that genuinely connects with people. If a song helps someone through a tough time, brings back a meaningful memory, or makes them feel understood, that's success to me. I measure success by the impact the music has and by continuing to grow as an artist while staying true to who I am.

My dream performance is standing in front of a crowd that's singing the words back louder than I am. It doesn't matter if it's a theater, an arena, or a festival stage—it's about that connection between artist and audience when everyone is experiencing the song together.

I'd make it easier for independent artists to be discovered based on the quality of their music rather than the size of their budget. There are so many talented artists creating incredible work, and I'd love to see more opportunities for great songs to rise to the surface regardless of industry connections or financial resources.
