Rebecca McDonnell Perspective on Won't Regret It A Bit

I think a mixture of styles is what I am actually doing...Indie, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Acoustic, Disco Pop, Retro and even some Jazz. I am not sure that I fit into any one genre entirely. This song has more of an Indie Rock feel. I usually write the guitar solos on with my violin first, then pick a guitar sound that sounds best. I want to change the genre for violin players. It can sound way cooler with some great plug ins and effects. I like to go for making my violin sound more like a guitar or saxaphone than a traditional violin. That is when things get exciting!

I'm Rebecca Mcdonnell. I have a degree in Audio Recording Technology, and also majored in String Performance. I write songs and record them in my studio using Pro Tools and lots of fun plug ins. I am the engineer and producer of all of my compositions, all of this stuff comes out of my brain.

I also sing all the vocals and play all the instruments on my songs. I have the perfect bass sound on my keyboard and some fantastic drum sounds . That is always how I start recording a song, bass and drums first. Then I use some cool guitar and keyboard sounds followed by vocals. Somtimes layers of vocals- I enjoy doing that. I love when I can put my violin on songs. Not every song calls for that, it is a mood thing, a texture thing. It's a great day when I can put down a great violin solo that rocks!
