Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

I'm Trapheauxly (pronounced "trap holy", and I am the CEO of Lorde, a nonprofit fighting to end human trafficking trafficking. I make music from my soul and I hope my listeners feel seen when they hear my music. 

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

My grandparents , Etta James and Otis Redding, heavily influenced my taste in music. My favorite genre is soul. So, going back to my soul roots feels good. 

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memory of listening to music is seeing Yolanda Adams perform at a church service when I was a toddler. 

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I decided when my grandmother heard one of my songs and definitively told him I was going to be a musician. 

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Soul, R&B, alternative rap, gospel

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I'm much more raw and authentic. I experiment more, and I'm working with engineers and producers who are more cohesive with my creative vision. 

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Spirituality, theology, love, and the full spectrum of human emotion. 

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

If I could go on tour with any artist, I would choose Jazmine Sullivan. She is the most refined voice in music today and her energy seems ethereal. 

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Something you ca feel in your soul

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Whitney Houston. She will always be The Voice. 

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

A song I haven't released yet; called "Sober". I think a lot of people will have something to say about the lyrics because they desribe a universal experience

Answer:

On Grey's Anatomy. That show has amazing music.

Answer:

I want people to feel immersed in sound and soul.

Answer:

Answer:

Answer:

I record demos of EVERYTHING. Over and over again. All before I get to the studio.

Answer:

Touching lives with my art

Answer:

I innovate genre constantly by blending them to my own unique trap symphony

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

I'm currently on the board of directors for a nonprofit and acting as Director of Community Engagement , while also running my own nonprofit. 

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

I've been a published poet for twelve years now. My vigorous and meticulous writing has gotten me the chance to write for greats like Nick Jonas. 

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

Yes. People sometimes view me as a spectacle and I'd rather be alone than perceived.
