Onsoul Perspective on Ladinho - Radio Edit
it plays into Melodic House with funk vocals and an uncommon tribal groove
what i make usually shows what i've been vibing to lately. i’ve been around lots of different music genres since i was a kid, thanks to my family playing songs all the time: at home, in the car, and even before bed
i think the electric-sounding synths in it come from my love for melodies. they've always stood out to me, and i usually pay more attention to it than the groove or vocals
i can totally link the groove to all those Afro house and Brazilian beats i was into in my teenage years; somehow, those vibes ended up in the song. i also love to appreciate all kinds of genres, and i recently got into Brazilian funk, which is a big part of my music culture.
i had the whole structure of the song ready, opened up Splice, and found this cool vocal. i didn't think I'd actually use it, but it was hitting too hard to let it slide, so i figured, why not give it a shot?
my most memorable response was when i saw &ME playing my private rework of "Khanyisa" at DHB in the Agafay Desert back in 2023. seeing thousands of people dancing to something i touched on felt priceless. that moment makes me think about how music can bring people together and fill them with thrill for presence; its something i'll always remember
Ame DJ. his sets will definitely take you on a journey; his bold approach to supporting what hasn't been done in dance music is one of the main reasons i chose to explore the path of a DJ and producer. +, his skill to read the room and build sets is amazing. it would be an honour to tour with him
Daft Punk.
Michael Jackson. i never got the chance to see/hear him perform, but from what I’ve heard, he had the best skill of taking people on a journey. his shows were totally amazing; people would get super emotional and even tear up from excitement before it even started; he made something totally new and unique. would be crazy to witness this thrill of emotion from the crowd
i have this memory of my father singing this family lullaby about a star, 'Estrela Dalva.' it's about finding your way on tough times or changes
