This is a no BRAINER! Artists are abused by the labels, distributors and streaming platforms. Watch Rick Beato and he will truly educate you on the evils of this industry. Case in point....As much as I love the playcount I'm getting on Spotify, they are the opitome of why things are wrong. Basically, they ignore you until you have over 1000 streams on your own, then allow you to PAY them to promote you. Huh? If you had a BILLION streams on Spotify, they cannot answer the simple question of "How much does the artist make" with that many streams. You might get $250k, which is RIDICULOUS! Even Song Tools here requires $10/day to shop you to Spotify playlists, which does help...but most playlists I get put on....DO NOT FIT MY GENRE!! I end up on some "Feminine Girl Vibes" playlist that spawns 20 plays in two weeks. Why would Song Tools not think....HEY...maybe I can shop a Christian Rock Artist to....I don't know.....CHRISTIAN PLAYLISTS? Sorry I'm on a soap box. The thing that is disheartning is that we as artist, dont really have a choice to but play thier game.
