How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

How our background shapes “Out of the Dark”

BassWar & CaoX stand for Rebels of Rave – a style built on years of passion, 80h weeks and millions of streams worldwide. With roots in both professional audio engineering and hands-on rave culture, our background is all about combining perfection with raw energy.

“Out of the Dark” was forged from the melodic vision of Bitshakerz, enriched by the live guitar performance of DjEveek, and finally elevated through our signature BassWar & CaoX topline leads, basslines and fine-tuning. The result: a true hard rave anthem merging real instruments, epic melodies and explosive drops.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Our earliest memory of music

For CaoX, it started at the age of 6 with a fascination for epic anthemic melodies in trance — always chasing the goosebump feeling of pure melodic epicness.

BassWar found his roots in the progressive house scene, where melodic structures shaped his creative journey towards harder styles.

Together, these backgrounds defined our path: from trance and house to Harder Stylez, always driven by melody first, power second.

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

Our favorite way of sharing music

For us it has always been YouTube — that’s where our journey started, where we built the strongest community, and where we still connect with millions of ravers today.

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

Our overarching goal as artists

Our mission is to live Rebels of Rave as more than music: to shape trends instead of following them, to create sustainable impact for the scene and future artists, and to bring our sound and community onto the world’s biggest stages.

It’s not about hype — it’s about hard passion, vision and responsibility.

Name three artists you’d like to be compared to.
Answer:

Artists we’d like to be compared to

  • Armin van Buuren – for his timeless melodic epicness.
  • Timmy Trumpet – for his explosive global festival presence.
  • Sub Zero Project – for their innovation within the harder styles.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

The most significant lesson we’ve learned

No matter where you start — even with nothing but a dream — it’s always possible to rise to the top. Experience and authenticity are the key. Make mistakes, because without them, you’ll never grow.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Themes we explore in our music

Our tracks often dive into space, robots & artificial intelligence, futuristic visions, sci-fi worlds and magical journeys. These themes allow us to combine hard rave energy with epic storytelling that takes ravers beyond reality.

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

Dream artists we’d love to collaborate with

  • Armin van Buuren
  • Martin Garrix
  • Timmy Trumpet
  • Hardwell
  • Sub Zero Project
  • Finch
  • Scooter

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

If we could change the music industry…

We would bring back the true value of artistry. Today, reach and numbers on social media often outweigh quality, creativity and authenticity. This culture of hype overshadows countless real talents who never step into the shark tank because it feels meaningless.

That must change — art deserves to matter again.

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

A song that represents success to us

Without doubt: “Apologize”. At a time when we had neither a strong Spotify presence nor major shows or PR, Harris & Ford discovered us through YouTube. Just a few months later, this collaboration was born — a track that perfectly united both of our styles and marked the start of a loyal friendship and our breakthrough.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

Our definition of success

Success means staying true to ourselves, living what we love to the fullest, while finding the perfect balance between trend, fan desires and our own creation.

It’s about building a sound that is unique to the ear and rooted in real connection to our community. Fan loyalty and uniqueness must rise without limits — then everything else follows automatically.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

Our dream performance

While many would name Tomorrowland Mainstage or Defqon.1, our dream has always been different: to one day step onto the legendary stage of Ultra Music Festival Miami — even if just as a guest performance.

And now, with our own visual productions shaping our story, another dream stage is clear: the breathtaking Sphere in Las Vegas, where music and visuals merge into pure epicness.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

What we want people to feel

Through our powerful, euphoric melodies — whether emotional, epic, joyful or even playful — we want to spark the feeling of limitless possibilities, freedom and unity. Every set should feel like an emotional rollercoaster of 60–90 minutes: unforgettable rave euphoria mixed with raw authenticity.

In short: Happiness, peace, love, joy, strength, freedom, weightlessness… but also anger, sadness, doubt and speechlessness. Because real music should touch every corner of the human soul.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Three words to describe us

REBELS OF RAVE

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

If we could go on tour with any artist…

It would be Timmy Trumpet — because he radiates pure authenticity, always does what he loves without compromise, and delivers shows that feel like a rollercoaster of emotions.

Plus… we’re pretty sure he’s just as crazy and wild as we are — two butterbirnen on tour together. 😅

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

How we would describe our music

Imagine epic melodies that give you goosebumps, blended with explosive drops and raw rave energy. It’s an emotional rollercoaster — from pure happiness to raw intensity — always at 150+ BPM.

In short: Harder Stylez with heart, freedom and madness — the true sound of Rebels of Rave.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Genres this release plays into

At its core, this track represents our own creation of the Anthemic Hardstyle sound — a harder style defined by epic melodies, real instruments like electric guitars in the second drop, and a unique blend of German vs. English lyrics.

Broadly speaking, it plays into: Hardstyle, Rock, Dance, Electro, Hardtechno.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

If we could attend any performance, dead or alive…

Avicii — the king of electronic melodies and the seamless fusion of real instruments with electronic beats. His melody-first songwriting turned festival stages into pure emotion. That balance of heart and euphoria is exactly what inspires our own path.

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

How our other passions reinforce our music

We channel three passions straight into the studio — cinema, rock performance and pop culture — to shape our Anthemic Hardstyle.

  • Cinema: playful sampling of iconic quotes & cult scenes we grew up with, re-cut into mashup textures and call-and-response hooks.
  • Rock: epic electric-guitar solo layers intertwined with bright top-lead synths for maximum anthem power.
  • Pop collisions: unexpected DE × INTL superhit motifs, reframed on a harder-style backbone — surprising yet dance-floor ready.

Result: familiar emotions, new intensity — Rebels of Rave in full effect.
