Antonio-Maleek Perspective on John 14:6

My life, like many others, hasn't been an easy one. I have spent most of my life driven by my own goals and desires, often consumed by anger. After almost losing my marriage and my whole family twice, I was at rock bottom and knew that the only way up was to turn to the Lord, get serious with Him, and give Him my life. John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." In Matthew 16:24, we are told that the way we should follow Jesus is to give up our own lives, take up our crosses, and follow him. This song not only gives a little bit of background of my life, but it expresses the joy of understanding that Jesus is the direction to go, in a world that often seems lost, and the way to take that path is to give up our own lives by giving up control, to follow Jesus.

My name is Antonio-Maleek, and I am a Christian singer and author.

I was very young when I heard music for the first time. I was sitting in this dark room that as a child was very scary to me because who isn't afraid of the dark at such a young age. In this room there was just a single night light that lit up a small corner by the back door. In that same area, there was a radio playing, and that was when I heard my first song, "Killing Me Softly" by Fugees.

I have been dreaming of becoming an artist since as far back as I can remember. When I was young, my sister and I would always sing together, especially when it came to Christmas music, before she unfortunately passed. I started officially writing music a few years back, yet after much growing up had to be done, the desire to write music again returned to me, this time to serve the Lord.

Christian Pop

My music has become more of a story, based on events that I have actually experienced. It has gotten easier to produce music because of the stories I have to tell.

Christianity, sin, love, and redemption

Toby Mac, for starters, because I have already been told that my style of music closely resembles his. Brandon Lake would be another, because I feel like we could, together, encourage the crowd to jump and celebrate the Lord.
