How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I wrote this song to celebrate finally being able to move on from a painful situation.  It is biographical.

Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

I am a singer/songwriter that also plays acoustic rhythm guitar and drums/percussion.  I enjoy all types of music with a lot of rock and jazz influences but a strong connection to pop.  I am not appearing live at this time and only writing and posting music since it is difficult to be a one woman band and play live.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My mother sang to me at night.  First song I recall is "Blues In the Night" by Ella Fitzgerald, that she would do her best to sing.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I've been a performer my whole life, started playing piano and singing at 12, then was lead singer in several bands over the years.  I then took a long break to deal with a family crisis, and just recently started writing and recording my own music.  I am releasing my first album July 16, 2025, on all streaming platforms as well as the songs are on bandcamp and soundcloud.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Pop, rock, indie

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Estrangement, relationships, family, nature, healing through lyrics

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Sheryl Crow and Brandi Carlile, they are strong female artists that I admire and love their versatility.

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

Sting or Chris Martin

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

I picked the wrong time to get back into music, honestly, because there is no money in it and it is extremely difficult to compete when everyone can upload anything without any sort of filter for the quality of content.  I have to love this and get personal satisfaction from it, because it will never be what it used to be.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

Hoping my grandkids can listen one day and know they had a cool Nana.
