Blessing Kennzy Perspective on HIDEAWAY

Hi, i'm Blessing Kennzy, an artist, producer, singer, songwriter. I make music that lives somewhere between a heartbreak text and a film score—raw, cinematic, and fun as hell. My sound pulls from alt-R&B, indie rap, hiphop and that soulful space where vulnerability isn’t just allowed—it’s weaponized. I build worlds. Always trying to create and experience.

In a way, my background is this song. Growing up, I was always in my head—overthinking, overfeeling, trying to make sense of chaos around me. I didn’t always have a space to let that out, so I’d create one, internally. That’s what “HIDEAWAY” is: it’s that emotional bunker I’ve been building since day one. Somewhere to retreat when reality gets too loud. And this song is me having a hard time letting go after finally letting someone into my hideaway.

My dad being a Micheal jackson / Jackson 5 fan, i remember hearing a few records growing u. Remember hearing I'll be there for the first time, felt that in my essence. Those plus church music, as i grew up in the Church.

An Artist is just who i am, who i've always been and who i'll always be. Cant really pin point adeciding moment, its just me being tru to myself.

This plays into the Pop, bedroom pop, indie pop side of music.

Still livint through my evolution, learning who i am and applying to to my craft. My sound’s gotten way more intentional—cinematic, atmospheric, but still raw. A lot of way to go.

Self Expresion really. Its my Outlet. I cannot but create.

It's a sound that shapeshifts between soulful vulnerability and razor-sharp wordplay, it weaves stories that feel like late-night drives, lost love, and the quiet chaos of young adulthood.

My Favorite song i've made is still unreleased, and thats a story for another time lol.
