Pabanor Perspective on Back to Life - Pabanor Afro House Version feat: U4RIAH

I am U4riah and I am a singer, songwriter and performer and music is my life. Ever since early childhood music helped me through some of the toughest times. Music is my therapy because through music we all connect, identify, relate, lift each other up and inspire.

It was when my brother brought home the "Daydream" album by Mariah when I was a little girl. This album not only helped me but made me realize what I wanted to do in life which is reach to people through music and help them as much as music helped me.

This release plays into the Afro House genre which is a genre that is trending at the moment and I have the luck to be working with Pablo "Pabanor" Ortiz which is one of the pioneers in this genre. He released music in this genre many years ago and provided music conferences speaking of and promoting this genre. I feel this vibe of this music because I have cuban heritage and therefore I connect with the percussion and beats of this music.

Currently the themes that I explore in music are energetic, party energy that makes you feel good and makes you want to get up and dance. It also has elements of love and sensuality. However, I do plan to explore more themes in the near future.

If I could choose three artists that would be Sia, Nadia Ali and Mariah. Sia's voice, music and story is so inspiring and relatable to me, Nadia is the Queen of clubs but has beautiful lyrics and melodies. Mariah was my original inspiration. But there are so many other artists I love like Lady Gaga, Crystal Waters, Christina Aguilera, etc

Would love to one day collaborate with Nadia Ali or Crystal Waters! Queens!

In the restroom. I mean I'm being honest and I'm sure I'm not the only one. As a songwriter, ideas can come to you at any moment and in any place and you have to grab your phone and record it so you don't forget!

I want people to feel inspired and feel better about themselves.

It was with performing my song "Let it go" at "Premios lo Nuestro" in Nicaragua. The feedback from the audience was incredible and so many people came up to me to tell me how the song and my voice touched them. The song is in relation to overcoming abuse and being in a better place where you are loved. To me it meant a lot that people could relate, get strength and inspiration from something that I wrote.

My definition of success would be for people to connect through my music for their greater good and the way I would measure that would be the amount of people that connect with my music. The more that I can inspire and uplift, the better.
