Mister Andy Newman Perspective on Almighty God

My talents are in songwriting, composition, arranging and production. Piano is my main instrument with guitar as a secondary. I'm much more of a writer than a player. My musical influences are all over the map. From Bach to Stravinsky. From James Taylor to Frank Zappa. From Led Zeppelin to Alison Kraus. From Duke Ellington to McCoy Tyner to John Coltrane to Hank Williams. I am more of a creator than a performer and not much of a singer. I have an album, 88 Black and White Keys, of classical style piano music that is programmed. I need to find an excellent pianist to re-record these.
In 1991, the Lord Jesus found me floundering in my family and professional life. My wife was sick. I was trying to break into computer engineering and I had two young boys to raise. One Saturday morning, I hopelessly broke down and prayed to the Lord for the first time in a very long time. I immediately felt His presence and His embrace that assured me that everything was going to be OK. At that time, I decided that whatever I was going to do with music, it was going to be for Him. I resigned from the weekend party band I was in and started playing worship music in church which I have now been doing for 30+ years.

Music is an extremely powerful and profound way to imprint memories in the human mind. Specific ideas, moods and memories can be retained by the masses through a simple motif. Music has an infinite number of unique ways to do this. Additionally, it is a universal language that all can comprehend.

This recording has strong rock influences. The lyrics are about the power and might of our God. Christian Rock.

Early in my career, I was playing the piano part for Color My World(Chicago) and a forgot the next chord change. You can't fake your way out of that. It's totally crash and burn.

To reach the lost for Christ by using the musical gifts He as provided.

I remember my Dad listening to classical music and him buying an old baby grand. He was self taught and played Mitch Miller songs at family parties and practiced Chopin

I'm a retired computer engineer that worked for NASA with astrophysicists for 34 years. This was my second career. I had graduated from Berklee College of Music in 76, then worked on the road playing music in nightclubs for 10 years. My wife gave birth to our second child and it became obvious that my family and children took priority over the music business.

I guess I decided I wanted to be a Beatle when I was about 14. I started seriously studying music and performing when the opportunity arose.

When people listen to my music, I want them to be reminded of awesome our Lord Jesus is. These songs have been given to me from Him. I'm only a mere conduit of His glory. When the hook/earworm from one of these songs pops into the listeners head, I want them to remember that God loves them.
