Jake Sparks Perspective on Summer Vibes Electrifying

My name is Jake Hadrick, my stage name is Jake Sparks. I write music mostly in the pop and rock genres, but I also do Christian music, and instrumental music including genres of pop, rock, Ambient, and New Age. I started releasing my own music back in March of 2021, my first song ever being a hip hop instrumental called "The Shadow" which can be found on all streaming platforms for anyone who wants to check it out. Over the past 4 years of releasing music I have made a lot of cool songs and have improved in my songwriting. I hope to grow my fanbase and hopefully even perform live and collaborate with other artists someday.

My overarching goal as an artist is too put out good music, grow a fanbase, sell merch, and make money with my music eventually.

My main reason driving me to continue making music is to share my songs that I write to share with the world so I can eventually turn it into a living and leave my current retail job at Safeway. Mainly its just to share my music with the world but if or when I do start making a living with my music I can say goodbye to my retail job.

Be consistent, never give up, and keep writing no matter how challenging it is at first.

The three artists I would like to be compared to is: "Big Time Rush", "Linkin Park", and "One Direction".

Always have something to write about. Being consistent is key to success in the music industry. Write whatever is on your mind at that time.

My scariest experience while pursuing music is never being able to reach the fanbase that I've always wanted. I've been releasing my music for about 4 years now. My first release being an instrumental called "The Shadow" which was released in March of 2021. I didn't know how to promote my music back then and never knew about songtools marketing until this year(2025). So, I hope from here on out I can use songtools to promote my music and grow the fanbase I've always wanted.

A song that represents success to me would be Yellowcard's song "Only One". It has 56 million views on YouTube to this date that this blog is posted, and it has a really catchy chorus line.

The artist has a role in our society to connect and atrele with people going through similar things, or just to inspire people. Some songs are written about heart break which is relateable to everyone. Some songs are written about finally finding your soulmate, again another relateable topic. Some songs are written about never giving up on your dreams and never lose hope which is inspirational.

I plan on being a game changer with my genre by researching new vst plugins and effects that are new, but no other artist has used yet and write a song with them to see what I can come up with.

My definition of success as an artist is by getting as much streams, playlist adds, and saves on streaming platforms. Spotify being my main platform to focus on. Getting views, watch time, and Subscribers on YouTube along with likes and positive comments is my other definition of success. I measure this by using the stats within Spotify for artists, distrokid, and the stats page in YouTube studio.

The most memorable response I've had to my work is "WOW this is your best song yet Jake"

I practice my songs before I record the vocals, and if I have a complex melody I practice that as well before recording. I also practice playing and/or singing the song depending on if its an instrumental or lyrical song before I shoot the music video for the song.

My favorite way of sharing my music is by sending it to Streaming services, YouTube, and social media.

I would want my fanbase to describe me as an artist of many genres but the main 2 being pop and rock.

The strangest place I've discovered a new song is inside a movie theater when the previews are playing or even in the movie soundtrack itself. I then after the movie go and look the song up and add it to my playlist.

When people listen to my music I want them to feel inspired and/or interested in the music and discover a new artist/sound.

My dream artist to collaborate with would be Big Time Rush. I would love to see what sound we could come up with between their style and my style of music.

My dream performance looks like me finally being able to play live when LA or even in my home town somewhere.

If I could only listen to 3 artists the rest of my life I'd pick, Megan Woods, Big Time Rush, and Linkin Park. I chose those 3 because Megan Woods is a Christian artist and all of her songs that she's put out take the stress away from me if I had a bad day. Big Time Rush because I grew up listening to their music and watching their show on Nickelodeon. There isn't a single song or episode that I dislike from Big Time Rush. I chose Linkin Park because I like listening to dark rock music at times and Linkin Parks sound is really good. They've inspired some of my songs. An example of that would be my song "Superman". While the lyrics of Superman may not be dark like Linkin Parks, the sound of the instrumentation is similar to Linkin Park.

My favorite song that I've made would be "Dead by Midnight" because its inspired by one of my favorite horror movie theme songs("28 Days Later").

I honestly wish I could've attended a linkin Park concert when Chester was alive. I love his music.

I would describe my music as a mix of upbeat and inspirational along with some dark and sad songs as well.

I would describe my favorite artists music as upbeat and inspirational music.(Big Time Rush)

If I could go on tour with any artist I actually have 2 that I would want to go on tour with. The first one being Victoria Justice because I like her music and I think it would be cool to do a collaboration. The 2nd would be Big Time Rush as I also love their music and they kinda fall in the same genre as me which is pop and rock.

my sound has evolved by adding more sound libaries to my recording software and making more complex melodies than my first few songs.

I wrote "Summer Vibes Electrifying" as a start to the Summer Season and Summer Vacation. The song is basically about transitioning from the school year to summertime.

I decided to become an artist after getting my first ever instrument which was a Yamaha psr-E223 61 key Keyboard for Christmas back in 2010. I played music so much after that from there onto present day and in 2021 when I got my first job I was able to finally pay a yearly subscription for Distrokid to release my music on Streaming. I now have all of the instruments, software, and tools I need to record, produce, and release my music.

"Summer Vibes Electrifying" plays into mainly the pop genre due to having mallets, steel drums, synth pads, sub bass, ect...

My earliest memory of listening to music would be listening to the bands Boston, U2 , and Linkin Park. My favorite songs that I would play on repeat from each of the bands was Boston's song Rock and Roll band, U2's song Vertigo, and linkin Parks song Faint. Over the years I have listened to some of their other songs and some of the songs I write are inspired by these bands. I have many other bands I listened to as a kid like Black eyed peas, journey, Taio Cruz, and many others.
