Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Cuezo World is the sonic universe of Cuezo — a Miami-based music artist, DJ, and visual storyteller. From soulful house to hip-hop, drum & bass to dancehall, every release is a new chapter in the story. Cuezo blends decades of DJ experience, live remixing, and video artistry into one immersive experience. With roots in NYC and deep Miami vibes, Cuezo World is where sound, rhythm, and visuals collide.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

My background is the backbone of my sound. I came up in Greenwich Village, then rooted myself in Miami since the mid-90s. I’ve been a DJ since ’95, spinning everything from South Beach clubs to underground parties. I was a signed Latin hip-hop producer, a sound engineer for major brands, and a cameraman for BET and MTV. That mix of cultures, genres, and experiences — from NYC grit to Miami sun — shows up in every track. Whether it’s soulful house, reggae, hip-hop, or drum & bass, my sound is always seasoned with real life.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memories of music? Playing Michael Jackson on repeat until the tape popped. I was hooked on that magic early. 80s R&B and hip-hop were the soundtrack of my childhood — New Edition, LL Cool J, Run DMC, all of that. And growing up around Caribbean vibes, that reggae and dancehall rhythm was always in the air. Those sounds shaped my ears before I even touched turntables or a drum machine.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

There wasn’t just one moment — it was always there. As far back as I can remember, I was drawn to music and art. I had a dope art class growing up, and music was a big part of school too. I was always sketching, listening, experimenting — expressing myself however I could. Those early days planted the seed. Becoming an artist wasn’t a choice; it was something I was already becoming.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

House Music. I have multiple genres of music. These are house music.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

In the last 3 years, my sound has leveled up — more global, more refined, but still raw and rooted. I’ve been blending genres with intention: soulful house with reggae rhythms, hip-hop drums under dancehall vocals, drum & bass with tropical swing. I’m using tools like Serato Stems and pushing live remixing and video mixing further. It’s still Cuezo World, but the world’s gotten bigger — more cinematic, more experimental, and more true to who I am.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Cuezo World is the sonic universe of Cuezo — a Miami-based music artist, DJ, and visual storyteller. If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

If I could go on tour with any artist? Bob Marley, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Nirvana, and Jimi Hendrix — off top. Each of them broke rules, bent sound, and moved people in their own way. Bob for the message and vibration. ODB for the raw energy and unpredictability. Nirvana for the emotion and edge. Hendrix for the pure sonic innovation. Touring with any of them would be about more than music — it’d be an experience, a movement, a moment in time.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

I’d say: close your eyes and let it hit you — it’s more than sound, it’s a feeling. My favorite artists make music that speaks truth, even without words. It might be gritty, soulful, wild, or spiritual — but it always grabs your spirit. Whether it’s Marley’s message, ODB’s chaos, Nirvana’s raw emotion, or Hendrix bending the sky with his guitar — their music moves you. You don’t just listen… you experience it.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

My music is a journey — tropical, urban, soulful, and unexpected. It’s like riding through Miami at night with the windows down, flipping between house, hip-hop, reggae, and drum & bass. I blend the old with the new, the smooth with the raw. One track might make you dance, the next might make you reflect. It’s live remixing, storytelling, and rhythm all wrapped into one. You never know what’s coming next — but it’s always got flavor.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

A Tribe Called Quest — no question. When I was 14, they were performing in Boca Raton, Florida and I begged to go, but my mom said no. I missed it… and not long after, they broke up. That one still stings. Their music shaped how I hear rhythm, flow, and soul. Seeing them live — Phife, Q-Tip, Ali, the whole crew — would’ve been more than a show, it would’ve been church. Timeless sound, pure energy, and a piece of hip-hop history I never got to witness firsthand.

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

All of them have a special place!

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

If I had to lock in with just 3? It’s Andy C, Wu-Tang Clan, and some proper house music.

Andy C brings the energy — nonstop drum & bass that keeps the pulse alive. Wu-Tang is the raw essence of hip-hop, lyrical grit with soul and truth. And house music? That’s the heartbeat — soulful, deep, uplifting. With those three in rotation, I’ve got the bounce, the bars, and the vibes for every mood.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

My dream performance is a full-on experience — not just a show, but a world. Picture massive LED walls with custom visuals I created, synced in real time. A live band holding down the rhythm, dancers moving like the music lives inside them. I’m on the decks, flipping stems and triggering visuals, blending genres live — hip-hop to house to drum & bass. Maybe even a little chaos: wild costume changes, surprise guests, fire visuals, real art meets energy. It’s immersive, loud, emotional, and unforgettable. That’s Cuezo World Live.

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

My dream collab? It’s a mix of icons and innovators.

Robin S, Crystal Waters — all the queens of 90s house who laid the foundation. Their vocals are the vibe: timeless, powerful, and emotional. I’d love to flip something new with that kind of energy. Add in Bad Bunny for the global wave, Armand Van Helden for the bounce, Andy C for the speed, and Black Coffee for the soul. But real talk? I’m down to work with anyone who’s got fire and vision. Let’s make something unforgettable.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

The strongest place I’ve discovered music? It’s all around me — always has been.

On street corners in NYC, in cars cruising Miami, in dancehalls, block parties, house sets, and late-night radio. I’ve found music in my memories, in family cookouts, in the clubs I DJed, in the silence between beats. It’s not just one place — it’s everywhere I’ve been and everything I’ve felt. That’s why Cuezo World is so diverse — I hear music in life.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

Lol! You would have to ask them. I only speak for myself.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Once again ask them.

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

Any way possible. Vinyl if there is choice.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

Yeah, I practice — but for me, practice is the job.

I DJ for a living, so every set is live training. Over the years, it’s evolved from just beatmatching and blends to full performance mode: remixing on the fly, triggering visuals, flipping Serato Stems, and adding live elements. I’m always sharpening — new gear, new styles, new energy. The crowd keeps me sharp. The more I play, the more I grow.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

I love you!

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

Success, to me, is doing what I love and sharing it with the world.

It’s not just about numbers or fame — it’s about creating something real and meaningful. The process matters just as much as the product. Every beat I make, every mix I drop, every video I edit — that’s part of the journey. If I can touch people with my art, inspire a vibe, or spark a feeling… that’s success. I measure it in connection, growth, and the freedom to keep creating.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

By being me — fully, unapologetically.

I’m not trying to fit into trends or chase what’s hot. I bring my full story — the DJ, the producer, the visual artist, the editor, the culture. I blend genres, flip visuals live, and create experiences that feel different. Cuezo World isn’t just music, it’s a whole vibe. That’s how I shift the game — by doing it my way and making it undeniable.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

Artists are the few still thinking — the creative minds pushing culture forward.

We reflect, challenge, inspire, and reimagine. While the world moves fast and gets noisy, artists slow it down and show people a different lens. We spark emotion, conversation, and change — sometimes without even saying a word. Whether it’s through sound, visuals, or storytelling, artists remind society to feel, to question, and to dream.

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

C.R.E.A.M. Wu Tang Clan
