The Delve Perspective on Disclosure

I would love the industry to value artists again.

In the last three years, I’ve stopped trying to shape things into what I felt they should be. I used to box myself in, only playing with certain sounds or moods because I thought it had to be. Now I let things unfold more naturally. Musically, I’m more experimental and more in control. I’m producing more and walking into things I felt uncapable of in the past.

This has been lifelong. Maybe since the early days of singing Mariah Carey in the car.

I’m The Delve, a singer and producer based in NYC. I make music that fuses the strange with the soulful, pulling from experimental, alternative, R&B, and pop. I’m drawn to sultry textures and harsh edges, dreamy sounds and raw emotion. My songs live in the in-between but always honest, textured, and a little hypnotic.

Definitely Mariah Carey. I was always singing in the car I’m definitely a Lamb.

It blends R&B and electronic with an alternative feel cause of my choices. There’s pop in there too, but it doesn’t follow a specific formula. FKA Twigs is a big inspiration for me, especially the way she plays with space and emotion. The percussion on this track definitely reflects that. It’s ingrained in how I hear music and where I feel space should be filled.

Introspection, empowerment, and discovery. I always start by recalling a feeling or emotion. Everything comes from an intimate place. The Delve *wink*

The Delve is my release. Even when I’ve struggled with creation, it’s the thing that makes me feel most whole. The ideas never stop either even if I can't see them. They live in me whether I’m ready or not. Making music keeps me connected to myself, but it’s also about connection with others. I want my music to move people, to make them feel deeply, and hopefully push them closer to their truest self.
