Steven Frank Perspective on Just a Dreamer

I am Steven Frank, I am a lifelong Guitar player & Singer Songwriter and I've always had a passion for music. I listen to and I am influenced by many different genre's of music, wich I think comes out in the different types of songs I write. I am currently living and performing locally in the Tampa, Florida area.

Growing up in my parents house on Long Island, My older brother had a band that would rehearse in our den. I remember hearing CCR's "Who'll stop the rain", and loved hearing them rehearse.

I think this song fits mostly into a Pop-Rock Ballad type of genre

My personal favorite is "Cracks in the walls (We've got to get back)" released late last year. Everything just seems to work together seamlessly in that song, and it didn't start out that way. : )

I would have to say both patience for myself, my music and the whole writing, recording and production process, as well as the outstanding benefits of collaboration with other artists

I have been a full-time Info-Tech guy working in the Financial industry. The only job that paid well enough without hard labor that both paid for and allowed time for my music.

I would like for people to feel a connection with the emotion being conveyed by the combination of music and lyrics and the story being told.

I'm always looking for a specific moment or feeling to convey in a song. They say the eyes are the mirror of the sould and I believe tha music is the sound of the soul. there are so many moments in each of our lives that a single emotion doesn't represent entirely, so I look for ways to simplify a comples emotion or feelng in a short story that is the heart of the song. We are all more similar than we are different so I hope to build a connection with the audience by communicating with a unique combination of emotions.

I really don't think this was a conscious decision, this was more of aquiescing to the enivitable. At the core, this is who I am , who I've always been. My song "Calling" tries to convey this feeling of being called to this profession.

Interstingly enough, it has become more complex in working with others that are much better musicians than I am. this has given me a deeper appreciation and knowldge of music and yet it has also made me recently start writing more simple melodies, so I think the next few songs will be more simple in their arrangements and their production.
