Pusha Preme Perspective on LEVELS

I’m Pusha Preme, an Afro Fusion artist blending Afrobeat, hip-hop, and soulful storytelling to create music that moves both the body and the heart. I’m also an independent entrepreneur building platforms for other creatives to grow, learn, and thrive.

My background as a first-generation African-American and my experiences growing up between cultures directly shaped this song. It reflects the tension between tradition and modernity, community and individuality, and showcases my journey navigating both worlds.

My earliest memory is sitting in the living room as a kid, hearing old-school Afrobeat records playing alongside my moms favorite 90s hip-hop. That fusion of sounds left an imprint early on.

I knew I wanted to be an artist the first time I performed at an open mic in high school. Seeing how my words and energy connected with strangers lit a fire in me that hasn’t stopped burning since.

This release sits at the intersection of Afrobeat, hip-hop, and dancehall, with sprinkles of R&B. It’s an Afro Fusion sound that’s rhythmic, introspective, and bold.

In the last three years, I’ve embraced more live instrumentation and melodic experimentation. My lyrics have also become more personal and vulnerable, moving from surface-level vibes to deeper storytelling.

I explore themes of love, betrayal, identity, ambition, faith, and transformation. My music often tells stories of growth, heartbreak, and redemption, showing the beauty and struggle of becoming your true self.

I’d go on tour with Burna Boy. His ability to command a crowd while staying authentic to his roots inspires me. Plus, our sounds would complement each other in creating an energetic, cross-cultural experience.

I’d describe my favorite artist’s music as timeless and genre-bending—a sound that mixes powerful rhythms with raw, poetic lyrics that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable.
