Who are you and what do you do?

Answer:

I am a 24y/o, soon to be 25y/o on June 8 (let me know if this answer is still up here after that date), that currently lives in Louisville, KY. I play for the UofL Cardinal Marching Band and Drumline as a snare drummer. I have over 12 years of intensive practicing to my name and which has made me able to compose/arrange sheet music, along with the electronic music production that I just started this past year. I was an Army Combat Medic from 2019-2023, and since discharging, I have worked as a bookkeeper and a medical assistant.

How does your background play into this song?

Answer:

TORN ALUMINUM was produced as an attempt to remove all pitched sound from my use and only institute high rhythm samples and drum machine playing. It is driven by rhythm and transient sounds that give it a heavy groove. This aligns perfectly with my percussive history, both as a concert percussionist and a marching percussionist.
