Russell Goodwin Perspective on God Made You Beautiful

I'm Russell Antonio Goodwin, Sr., an artist, songwriter, preacher, and filmmaker. I use music and storytelling to uplift, heal, and empower. Everything I create is rooted in purpose and faith.

As a preacher, I've had a front-row seat to the silent battles women face- the pressure to be perfect, the pain behind the smiles. God Made You Beautiful was born from my desire to remind every woman of her God given worth, no matter what the world says.

“On some Saturday mornings, my dad would play songs from all kinds of genres—jazz, gospel, funk, soul, and rnb. My brother and I would just sit and soak it all in. Looking back, it’s like we were absorbing music theory without even realizing it. Those mornings planted the seeds for everything I create today.”

The song blends R&B, contemporary gospel, and soul—it’s smooth and heartfelt, with a message that transcends genre. It’s a worshipful love letter wrapped in rhythm and melody.

My music explores self-worth, healing, God’s love, and personal transformation. Whether I’m singing or preaching, my goal is to speak life into the hearts of people—especially those who feel unseen.

God Made You Beautiful is my favorite because it’s not just a song—it’s a message. It affirms women in a world that constantly tries to diminish them. Watching women hear it and see themselves differently is priceless.

To use music and film as tools to heal, empower, and speak purpose. If my words remind just one person of who they are in God’s eyes, I’ve succeeded.
