Tony Cunha Perspective on Without You - Instrumental

Been a musician since the age of 8 years old. Learned other aspects of the music business as a publisher, producer, arranger and now record label owner. Written close to 450 songs, recorded 64 songs have had 270K streams my latest song, 'Without You (Instrument) on Songcloud has reached a record 115K streams. Currently working on new single and new album where going back in time 30 years ago working on the tapes used on my old multi track recorder by Tascam Portastudio 464. Kinda of strange but will be using voice when I was 30 years old. An idea saw with The Beatles 'Here and Now'. Got me inspired. Soundclick I've had 16 top 20 songs. Great to have some success. Stay tuned for these two releases the single and the album coming up late 2026.

Got the idea from Kenny G. Always admire how clean his instruments are. Being an instrument track wanted to dedicated this song both to my brother who was a huge mentor for me and my dad who was incredible artist in his own write. Never saw him play but was told his was a great jazz musician and conductor.

Got to be the Beatles. Remember 'All My Loving' was the first song that I've heard and started to play on my guitar. After that started to hear 'Chicago, America. Alot of the artist learned thru my brother he has a large album collection.

Think it had to be when I was at age 10 played my first spring concert and started to build on that. Later my Dad spoke to my brother you need to put him in the band by the age 16 played my first show playing percussion and following year was then joined as the rythm guitarist.

Started Rock, Pop and Blues. Later mix the genres to Rock Alternative, Brit Pop, Rock-Blues, Country Blues. This latest song has a jazzy blues feeling.

Definitely changed the style of music that when first got involved. Rock Classic to Rock Alternative, Pop to Brit Pop always been influnced by UK artist, Blues to Rock Blues from the days of Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman, John Mayer. Country started to mix with Blues to give it more of a feel. Always envolving some kind of change. Think music has to evolved one capacity or another.

The way I write look at what needs to change or what are things needed to be added. The song is not completed until it's finished once the ink is dried.

Julian Lennon because of the way he approaches to his songs. He always said that he tried to write and be organic. Where the song could be in a dark place where their hope there life. Eric Clapton, because of the chances he has gone thru his life. Always adapting or evolving one thing or another.

Think of few artist my favorite artist is Paul McCartney the way he goes about writing. And when he records it wants it his way nothing going to settle for anything less like the way he wrote 'Come and Get It' with the Apple Band Badfiner. Take to heart how he approaches his music direction even with George Martin the former producer of the beatles. Next is Eric Carmen think he was incredible gifted artist that touched your soul with his music. And his ablility to mix classical with rock is amazing. Peter Gabriel for his ways of writing which is completely out of the norm and years of ahead of it's time like in Sledgehammer.

My music is a very lay back approached. Sometimes would challenge myself to write in a certain way. But it's very lay back in Rock Alternative, Bluezzy type of feeling. Trying to bring music in a different way of light.

Paul McCartney he is a true performer. Puts on incredible show saw him perform years ago in Foxboro Stadium. U2 puts on a great performance they get the crowd involve. Wish had seen Rush it would of been amazing to see Neil Pert.

Without You is the best song I have written. Mixed of Jazz and bluzzy type song kind of remind me of Kenny G with the saxophone solo. Started out having lyrics then a few years later started to think lets put a saxophone in there. And more and more we change the format the better the song became great instrumental. Then decided lets do a instrumental album. Became my first instrumental album the song eventully had 115K audio streams on Soundcloud within a month of promotion. Overall we had 130K streams. Been the best song I ever successfully did.

Paul McCartney always admire his work ethic. How he goes into his recording either with the band or without.
Eric Carmen is just an amazing songwriter and musician even though he did alot less work at McCartney his songs. Built around themes by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The first of these singles, "All by Myself" – based on Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2
Eric Clapton, is just a smooth guitar player. He was influenced by blues music from an early age, and practised long hours learning the chords of blues/

It would have musician that believe in their craft. And believe in my music what I represent.

The ultimate dream artist of musician would be Paul McCartney. Don't think it can be better than that. Alot you can learn from.

One of my best songs was waiting for a friend of mine in an open field had my guitar wrote probably one of the best songs that I have ever wrote besides this one is 'Needing Your Help Today' with my brother John.

Want them to experience life experiences what I felt when I wrote that song and can releate to what I wrote. Bob Dylan calls it the well of creativity. Once you pass a certain time or event in your life can't get it back.

Innovation in music brining new ideas, styles and in music techniques. Always evolved into a change. Willingness to adapt to bring something no one has ever heard before. That I'm always thinking ahead and always trying to change something that will embed into their experiences.

Usually call on a few people to listen to my latest song. See what advise that they can give me. Usually post them on Soundcloud.

Practice enough that's needed for recording time. Don't spend alot of time into it. Record what is needed since I aleady know what it is that I'm looking for.

That my last 3 releases have been getting better and better. The latest recording that I did on Wreath of Shells think it was my finest work yet.

Success is all about couple things are we improving from the last recording or album. What ways are we getting better. Work on finger technique on the guitar, slide guitar, 12 string, bass and piano. And out doing my last work. Then we have the success that we been getting on streaming how popular are we branding ourselves. Are we getting music licensing deal and sync licensing. Are we involving in the quality of work in our own studio thru years now work on professional equipment and better DAW gone thru Cakewalk Sonar, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One and now Luna Recording Studio Software. Also use VSTs, iA with my voice and a bit ideas on songwriting.

Always being innovated, progressive, willing to adpt new ideas. Listen to the genre which working on to bring in to what I'm doing.

The artist wears alof of hats. Be willing to get involved in the writing, recording, arrangming process with a mentor. Artist also knows what the public is seeking how to bring those ideas to unfold.

Without You (Instrumental) has to be the greatest success. Alot has to do that the public heard it and like it. Also have a good promoter that helps to my success.

Lost my wife in 2017 that really destroyed me. At the time was CEO to Mervilton Records helping a collage managing his label. We had about 50 artist signed with 10 of them in our top 10 the biggest band we had was 'Tenpenny Joke' they were getting viewed by top record labels. As a company we had 26 Million Audio Streams. From Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Country to Blues artist from United States, Austrailia, Ireland and the UK.

Right up till my wife passed away in 2017 was very hurt and didn't care less of the label. First thing was hired a manager to build structure on the label by letting go everyone. At that time had been the CEO for Mervilton Records. We had 50 artist signed. With a total streaming count for the label 26million. Once my wife passed away just couldn't go any further. Hired a manager to build structure for the label by letting go of everyone and start fresh. We ran the business for a year drop the label started another label 'Mogulsta Muzik Records'. Signed 2 artist but nothing came from that. Saw one of my artist that recommend signed to Sony. Decided that I was going to breakaway had meeting that the label wil belong to me. The other managing partners had left the label. Also own recording studio 'Tradewind Studio'. Currently own a record label and promoting company in 'Promoting The Bands'. Something did happen when my wife passed away sold all the equipment I had thru out all the songs that I've written. About a few months later decide to get a cheap guitar then brought back the songs that I had threw it away and rememberd them. Rebuild a new studio even better. It was an embarassing moment for me but got me back into music.

Audio streaming completely distroyed the record business by making it free. They should allow a membership which they did to have access. Think that streaming artist should of gotten 1 penny once it passes 30 seconds airtime. Instead of paying .000007 of a cent which no one can live off of that. These stores really have distroyed the record business. But now we have to live with that. To me getting the steams is much more important that the money being made once you achieve the success of the streaming it's time to think of something else like music library or sync licensing is the next thing. It's time to build and work off innovated ideas. Instead of the old ways submitting to a record label so that they can assist in advances, tour support. That dream is pretty much over for alot of the artists.

Been songwriter, soundman, producer, arranger, pubisher and owner of a record label. Doing all those roles has helped me to undertand how to run a business in music.

Yes, photography and videos to enhance my work into making my process in music even better with new ideas. Good to take mental break and come back with a great set of ears after using your eyes taking good pictures to use it later.

Kinda of makes a person lonely. For me gone thru 8 years without a partner make me have time to think clearly. Other wise wouldn't been able to record, write music.

Able to think what can I write. Heard read stories in the news. Things that people say in Facebook. Start building on these skills and tools. Eventually you start getting better and better until it all comes together.

Writing then record, follow by mixing and mastering. But the greatest starts by writing a new song and what to write.

Like seeing pictures of Van Gogh that he was a master in his own write. Look at people that have handicaps and how can they build off of that.

Paul McCartney, Eric Carmen, Eric Clapton

That no one will guide you to a certain point. Alot times was on my own and the old saying goes you got to learn how to crawl before you can walk. That' what I did. Been recording music since the days of the 4 track multi-recording machine casette players since 1992-2025 span of 33 years now did stop from 2008-2019 when running a promoting company and 2 record labels. So been writing, recording my own material for 22 years. Since then my music has gone better, my writing gone better. My mixing and mastering has gone better too.

Yes, my Dad in heaven want him to be proud of me. Growing up was the youngest not giving much thought. My older brother paid his dues form his own band they celebrated 50 years and to have an award to be part of a movement means alot to me. That if I didn't join the military went on a different direction would of been long time member of the band. Sometimes you pay the price and in overtime. Wanted to show them that was valuable member in the band but even a better musician today.

My goals is to be able to write 500 songs. Have over 1 million streams with 10 albums think that would be huge. Brand myself as a recording artist that is also huge.
