Tilt 360 Perspective on It Grows

We started using social media back in about 2005 or 6 when Myspace was going on that's all we really had at that time nowadays there's so much more that we started to take advantage of this streaming platforms and the marketing and how everything is connected. We played from 99 to 2010 and will re-releasing our music because we didn't have these tools and these opportunities when we was touring and playing shows in the region. So it's almost a must that you have a digital presence as a band these days or you just won't be known. And it's a lot easier for the independent artist to get out there and not rely on spending thousands of dollars to have a person manage and promote when if you got that hustle and drive you could do it yourself and we definitely had that hustle and drive back in the day you apply that to the new technology and there you go.

Right now I would say YouTube and Spotify. We've had an official artist account on YouTube for a long time now that we have a distributor it could send to YouTube music but Spotify seems to be the top dog as far as trying to get your music royalties and spins. Get a trigger that algorithm and then you get sucked into the vortex and your songs go from 10 plays to 700 overnight.

This is a good question because as I said it's good but everything good we've over done since the history of humans on this big wet rock called Earth. Now the authenticity of bands or even hip hop artist has gone down because there's so many that can do it at home with their daws and put out music that's really overproduced with too many effects. Of course if you was a band playing before social media like we were hustling CDs out the trunk of the car and having a street team and handing out demos for free for an exchange on a sign up on our mailing list you had to have a certain creativity to get people to grab your music especially when your original band. So I believe if you were an artist before the age of social media and you combine that same drive and work ethic with social media but still remember that your performance live has to be better than a studio mix because that's where people see you and want to come and really listen to your music and get your merchandise. If you suck live and you sound good in the studio and all that over produced stuff that people can do then you kind of get washed out as a fraud and people don't know what it's like to play live and have a big show if they're just using social media and technology
