Talia Hilmi Perspective on riot

putting my art out there for anyone who needs it for any given reason is important to me. if i can make even one person feel seen that's a win in my book.

that life can be tough and scary but beautiful and fresh and exciting and everything is always changing.

hayley williams, olivia rodrigo, billie eilish,

i think i identify with all mediums of art in a way. i love painting and drawing, acting and theatre, dancing and performing, music. everything has meaning and i find ways to connect to it all.

i think it can be a bit lonely because you're not always sure where you're headed in life. the music industry can be tricky, but knowing in my heart that my dreams will come true because I'm working hard for it helps me a lot.

my favourite work of art is The Lovers by Rene Magritte (1928). i think it's beautiful and has this feeling of melancholy deep within it.

i would define it as everything. i truly believe everything and everyone is art and we should recognize that more as a society.

they help keep my grounded. i'm the type of person that can write a song about anything at any time, but having other ways to express how I'm feeling, like making a painting or writing a book, helps me channel new ways of expressing my poetic nature.

the release of my first song, 16 candles, was probably the scariest thing i've done while pursing music. not because i didn't want to or because of any public perception, but because it made everything feel so real, like this is the beginning of something great.

without art, life is bland. i think we're here to help spice up life.

i was pretty young, around 8 or 9 years old, and i was on youtube. billie eilish's song Ocean Eyes came up and I fell in love with music. since then, i knew it was something i had to do.

i don't think success is some huge moment or thing. i think success is a lot of little moments that make you realize, "wow, i'm doing what i love and people see that and hear that."

my name is talia hilmi and i'm a 17 year old new artist!

the first song i can remember was stereo hearts by gym class heroes (2011). i was in my old apartment at the time, around 4 years old, and it was on tv.

rock, pop, punk.

artistic, kind, angsty.

queen. i think freddie mercury changed so many lives with his voice and him along with the rest of queen are incredible.

i want them to feel whatever they need to feel. my songs don't have a specific intention. yes, they are written with something in mind, but i want people to take that and make their own interpretation.

diverse and meaningful

"you're going to change the world"

i want to scream my lyrics and have the world scream back.
