Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

At 30 I quit music.  At 50, after a whole life of raising a family, I reversed my decision to quit music, moved to Nashville, recorded and album, put together a band and started touring.  I'm a songwriter who has given up giving up and all my songs are about people who have to let themselves out of their own traps.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Recording the album with the band really showed me how my sound could get "bigger".  Before this album I had written my songs for solo performance at the piano.  I am now much grander, stronger material overall.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

This song leans into some classic rock influences like Queen and David Bowie and Peter Gabriel.  It's a ballad, but it also has a dramatic element to it and a lot of bombast.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

"Murder of Crows" explores alienation and loneliness -- feeling that you have never really found your people or your home and not really knowing where to look for it.  Nevertheless, it is defiant, not hopeless, inspiring the feeling that the fight isn't in vain.
