Who are you and what do you do?

Answer:

My name is Dr. Robert “Battle Ax” Ornelas, and I am the frontman for the S.O.G. Crew Hip Hop Movement. I organize music, tours, events, fundraisers, and advocacy, promoting the culture of Gospel Hip-Hop. I have been involved in entertainment since the 80s. Born in Long Beach, I am also an enrolled member of the Texas Band of Yaqui Indians. My roles include being a Hip-Hop Emcee, Evangelist, Missionary, producer, educator, and political liaison. Currently, we are signed to Thump Records and Lowrider Magazine. My wife Melissa and I recently celebrated 28 wonderful years of marriage. I have a deep love for all music. As a music engineer, I continue to enjoy exploring all aspects of music. I often find myself writing songs reminiscent of the days when our underground group was just starting back in the day in the lab. I also cherish long walks along the beach with our boxer dog, Solomon. I hold a Doctorate in Divinity, I am a former US Presidential Candidate (2016), and I'm a history nerd with a passion for advocacy at the national level.
