Glisad Music Perspective on I Love You (A True Story)
King-A'B Cher here! This one is easy - for anyone that has listened to our music for a while now will understand that my MAIN influence for my songs is my dear, beautiful wife & partner - Queen K Cher! I mean, how could I not?? Glisad Music wouldn't be where we are right now without her ingenuity & intelligence! I have to continually give her her props!
Haha, it's actually kind of a funny story - but true (just like the song). A few years ago, we were getting ready to go to sleep for the night, the lights were out & everything! Lol. Then Queen K Cher said "I love you!" in a sing-songy way that almost sounded like music to me (King-A'B Cher) & I instantly got up, grabbed my guitar & started writing this song! One thing about being a songwriter is knowing that inspiration can hit at anytime & usually in the most unusual ways (like this example!) So yeah, this is why "I Love You (A True Story)" exists today!
For me, King-A'B Cher, usually the lyrics & the music are born at the same time! To me, a song is a complete entity - all the parts need to be able to coincide with each other naturally!
The goal of this song was to portray the beginning of our love story in song form. Honestly, it was MUSIC that brought us together & it is MUSIC that continues to propel us forward every day! So, it only felt fitting to preserve that very important moment in our lives in the form of a song!
Like we've mentioned before, "I Love You (A True Story)" is just that! This is a song that came from a real-life event in our lives - that real-life event being the day that I, King-A'B Cher, met my beautiful wife, Queen K Cher. Or should I say I had the honor & privilege of meeting her! She is the best thing to ever happen to me & it is because of her that I can be at the level I'm at right now with Glisad Music! She is everything to me & of course I had to honor her (& that day especially) with this song!
