Que Reventon Perspective on Me Hierve la Sangre

This song is cumbia norteña popular in the northern regions of Mexico and along the southern border of the United States.

Like many artists, I have had many jobs, of which my favorite would have to be welder. I know how to weld MIG, TIG, FLUX CORE and stick. I should write a song about that...it rhymed. Right now I do security, but the dream is to make music full time.

I had a bad moment in my life due to infidelity, but I exaggerated it in the song

My earliest memory would be sitting in front of a "consola", a big record player, my parents had when I was maybe 3 years old. My parents would play records by Juan Gabriel and other popular artists. My favorite was Cepillin. He was a dentist that would dress up as a clown so the kids wouldn't be scared. He became famous and wrote music for children.

I discovered The Smiths one day as a kid, when I walked into an old-school record store in my hometown. My friends would go there to get tapes from awesome metal bands. We had no Internet back then so we couldn't Google the artists beforehand. I actually liked punk rock and most punk band names started with "The", so when I saw a tape of The Smiths I thought they were a punk band. But boy how I was surprised!

I hope to make them want to get up and dance. The name Que Reventón literally means "what a party" or "Lit Party". I'm hoping to make music that will make people want to get up and dance like at quinceañeras.

Make people want to dance.

I set out to make my own music because I had grown tired of my coworkers playing the same old songs every day. I wanted to give them something new.

I'm not sure it's a lesson, but I have gained appreciation for lyricists. The song may be good but without the right lyrics it may fall flat.

I have not told anyone I know that I make music. People see things differently when they know you made something. In my experience they regard it as not good simply because they don't believe that I could have made music. Since I'm not established as a musician it must mean that it isn't good...even if at first they thought it was good. Now I just say that I found a new song, but don't say that I made it.

My father-in-law was jaw dropped when he realized that I had made my songs. That was quite memorable. He immediately told me to get them copyrighted so that no one can steal them. LOL He's a good man.

Se Me Enciende el Corazon is a new song that I'm about to release. It's a love song, but with norteñas, there's always a playful tone to the lyrics.
