What inspired this song?

Answer:

I wrote this song for families of loved ones who have to spend long periods of time away from home.

My sister is married to a former marine. She lived with me while her husband was deployed. During that time, she had their first child. I saw firsthand the toll deployment takes on their family. They miss and give up so much for the sake of their country. It really is a sacrifice on both ends.

This song is a commitment to their loved one who's away.
