We hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask Hannah Michelle anything!
Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Hannah. I've lived in the suburbs of Maryland my entire life. I love the diversity and uniqueness that this state offers. We have the mountains, the beach, and all four seasons. And we have the best state flag!

The eclectic culture of this state significantly influenced the style and genre of my songs. I love the edgy, seductive sound of blues, the toe-tapping, catchy hook in pop, the gritty, grunge electric guitar in rock, and the story-telling acoustic found in country and folk.

I spend my days working as the customer relations manager and receptionist for my husband's company. I also teach piano to kids, write novels, and write songs. I love gardening, crafts, and thrifting.

I have two cats named Stella and Natty and a blended family of seven...yes, seven kids. My husband has four girls: Kaitlyn, Brenna, Meghan, and Quinn. I have three kids: Joel, Avery, and Carter. It's crazy, loud, and drama-filled, but it's also a lot of fun and a lot of love. I truly believe that my songwriting would be a whole different story without the profound influence and support of my family. Their inspiration has been instrumental in shaping my music and creativity.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My dad would play tapes in his pick-up truck as we drove around. James Taylor, Carole King, Kenny Loggins, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Amy Grant are a few artists that greatly shaped my musical influence.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I started playing the piano when I was eight. I had horrible eyesight but didn't know I needed glasses. I used to ask my teacher to play the song a few times first so I could hear it and memorize it by ear because I couldn't see the notes on the page. Because of that, I am really good at listening to a song and being able to play it.

I picked up the guitar during my freshman year of high school, I took a guitar class out of curiosity and it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the day. My teacher, Damon Foreman, was a true inspiration—his unwavering support ignited my passion for songwriting. Thanks to his encouragement, I began to explore my creative side like never before.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Lainey Wilson or Brothers Osborne.

Lainey because I love her heart, passion, and grit. She is one of the most bad-ass, talented, and beautiful inside and out female artists. She is such an inspiration to female artists and girls everywhere who aspire to be someone and be heard.

Brother's Osborne because I LOVE THEIR SOUND. I love how they let the song continue long after the lyrics stop. They are also Maryland natives, so we have that in common. :)

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I want you to feel it. I want to hit the heart and soul of a feeling and experience. Story-telling is a theme throughout my songs. I love sounds like the cello and mandolin. A rolling, cinematic piano is also one of my favorite sounds.
