Who are you and what do you do?

Answer:

I'm Perk, and I write and produce my original songs. I have a studio in Hermosa Beach, California and I play all the instruments on my recordings. I also teach music!

How does your background play into this song?

Answer:

The origin of this song is hilarious! I was working with a student who was playing around with the modulation dial on the keyboard, and making this "rah rah rah" type sound that was actually driving me crazy, and I made a comment that it sounded like a cat rolling down the street in a tire! I had my guitar, and just started playing D minor, then G then C and the song was born!

What genres does this release play into?

Answer:

Great question! I'm still trying to figure out what genre this song is, but for now I'm calling it "Desert Disco"! It's got a dreamy, Americana feel to me, and people seem to really enjoy the groove!
