How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

Growing up on Prevost, the soundtrack to my hustle was inspired by the legend himself, Stretch Money. Proud to pay homage to a real one who showed me it takes money to make money. 'Stretch Money' is more than a remix; it’s a salute to his legacy and a piece of my story from Detroit.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

3 years hearing Snoop Dogg's "Gin & Juice". That dreamy West-Coast synth in the background is what made me fall in love with the song

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

Age 9, I wrote my first rap after watching Jay-z's "Big Pimpin" video.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Take risk and invest in yourself in every way possible

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

I would choose Micheal Jackson. The greatest performer of all time.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

I want them to feel like my next door neighbor or cousin. That person who was close enough to see and verify the stories but not close enough to be there every single day.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

Steering the hearts and minds of the people that follow us.

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

Jay-z - So Ambitious Ft Pharrell.

From the title to the story in the verses to the lyrics of the hook, it represents the motivation of the underdog who made it through the trenches to success. The horns within the beat gives me a feeling of championship.

Name three artists you’d like to be compared to.
Answer:

Jay-z, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

Radio Personality, Program Director, Videographer, Photographer, Studio Assistant, Promoter, Event Host.

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

Being an artist has forced me to be more social actually. If it wasn't for music and me wanting to have my voice and message heard, I would have never gotten on any stage, never attended any parties, festivals or HipHop events that I needed in order to make connections and new fans.  I use to be very shy, being an artist gave me the courage I needed to come out of my shell.
