Mistro Ts Perspective on U&I

Overall, my goal with my music is to live a life style where I can freely create, perform, and inspire people!

My most significant life lesson i've learned through being an artist is to manage my expectations. Pursuing a music career comes with a lot of uncertainty, set backs, delays and challanges. Everything always looks good from the outside. When you actually go for a dream yourself, you will likely encounter resistance and roadblocks. Everyones journey looks different. My path is unique. Alot of my accomplishment have come to me unexpectedly. So I've learned to just work hard, be patient and expect the unexpected!

My song "Fly Away" With Joie Kathos is one of my most successful releases. I've seen this song reach so many people locally, I've heard stories of this song being played on the radio, people continue to share this song and it's done really well.
Being an artist can be frustrating sometimes because you don't always see the impact your music has on people, most of the time you just see numbers on a screen and occasional text messages. Joie Kathos is an artist and friend of mine. She's a talented dancer and coreographer, she teaches dance really well. Every now and then she'll tag me in post on social media showcasing her students dancing to "Fly Away" and they alway's look so happy and energetic. People really enjoy this song. Seeing others dance to my music inspires me so much to keep going especially when I see the impact my music has on the youth.
I enjoy creating music, but to see people enjoy listening to my music fills me with gratitude.

I want my music to feel like a warm esspresso on a winter morning. I want people to feel energized and happy. My goal is to put people in a trance when they hear my music. Most people go to their playlists to uplift their envioronment, some people listen to music in the gym, some people listen to on the dance floor and others listen to their playlists just to wind down. I want my music to make people fell good in any setting.

I would say that my music is very colorful, uplifting, energetic and powerful.

In the last 3 years, my sound has become more niche. As a producer I create everything. I create hiphop, trap, pop, dancehall, and raggaeton. I also create within multiple genre's of EDM. My sound has also become more refined and a bit more commercial. However the tracks I release under MISTRO TS fall under the subgenre's of House music. I try to keep everything I create for MISTRO TS melodic, upbeat and dance-able.

Since I was 7, music was always a hobby for me. When ever things got tough music was my escape. Music always left me feeling better than ever before. I decided to take music seriously when I was 13. An older friend of mine saw my love for creating music and had shown me the software he used to create his songs - "FL studio 11" and I became obsessed. I had no clue that I could make real radio ready music from my bedroom! I was in the studio often and I started performing at a few local venues and after releasing and signing multiple songs, aswell as seeing so many producers crush it in the industry, I decided I wanted to pursue music as a career rather then just a hobby.

When I was 8 years old, I would hear artists like Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Will.i.am on the radio. I was raised by music! My grandfather, Claydes Charles Smith was the Co-founder and lead guitarist of Kool & The Gang. My Father is a seasoned Music Producer in the Industry and my mother is a singer. They had studio equiptment in the attic everywhere! Keyboards were like toy's for me. I would hear these artists on the radio and try to mimic them on keyboards whenever I got bored.

When I was 14 years old I fell in love with Progressive House music. Progressive House was huge when I started producing music, I heard tracks like "Summer" by Calvin Harris being played everywhere. Martin Garrix was an becoming an EDM senstation. And Avicii was playing progressive house at huge festivals. All 3 of these dance music artists inspired me to create more music in this genre. Progressive House was new to me and I would sit behind my computer for hours with a ton of new ideas. "U&I" was a track I wrote when I was 14. I came back to the track to re-create it after 9 years because I loved the melody so much.
I sent the track song to singer / songwriter Jaime Arin and she wrote some lyrics and created some melodies! We went on to do some vocal production and came up with this as a final result. I'm very happy with how everything came together!

Hi! I'm Mistro. My name is a spin off of the term "Maestro". A Maestro is a master musician and composer, when I was younger I would create and play classical peices on the piano, people would allude to me as a Maestro. When I began sharing my music on the internet I needed something to call myself and I thought "Maestro" was cool.
