Henry Diaz Perspective on Welcome to My Island Life

I am a Music and Spanish teacher with a dream to pursue a musical career, and to help other achieve their goals if I can. I've had a passion for music since I was much younger, and still continue to do so.

I taught myself how to play my instruments such as guitar and piano. And I always look and listen for inspiration as well.

When I first saw the movie Grease. The singing just inspired me to do so!

I was I my late teens. But my education had to some first. I did it as a side hustle with different bands, and was writing songs since I was about 14 or so.

I always see it as a learning experience, and I keep it going. My recording styles have changed a lot since my beginnings with pro tools. I am always looking up tips and tricks and different ways to record a track.

More or less just an average person waking up every day to go to work, drive to work, and thinking about their dreams and goals.

It varies from song to song. On my album This is Me, I jump around to show other genres as well. I can't seem to stick into just one!

Oh wow! It would be to open for Guns N Roses or even for Slash's solo projects! I'm a huge fan!

In your face style of rock influenced by The Rolling Stones, which really meaningful lyrics.

A mixture of rock, pop, ballads, and even some Christian influences.

Definitely Queen, but with Freddie Mercury. His vocal styles were awe inspiring!

That's a tough question! While I love all the songs that I've written, the one I had the most fun with is a song on my current album, What You Hear is True. It's basic but it is to the point. It's the 4th song on my This is Me album.

Queen for its singing and music.
Guns N' Roses for its heavy melodic tones.
Motely Crüe because it's really heavy and also alternate tuning.

It could be a small venue, but I would love to have people who would appreciate and support me very much! I wouldn't even mind opening for someone.

Definitely Slash! He could play his guitar and I would do the vocals!

That they could sing along with the lyrics, and if applicable, play an instrument to jam along! But most importantly, I would like them to feel happy and just enjoy!

lol! I guess in the shower! I like to listen to music in the shower!

Hard working, Passionate, and Dedicated!

Word of mouth, telling people where to go look for me, social media. I'm trying to get more people to follow my@officialhenrydiaz page so I can do live content.

I try to practice every day. Since I am a teacher and a parent, it can be challenging, but I try.

When I released my album This is Me last year, my students in the 6th grade applauded me very loudly in the auditorium. I want sure at first and then they told me that they saw their streaming services and found me. It was so sweet and so cool at the same time! It felt real nice!

Hard working, listening to other artists to obtain inspiration, and not being afraid to step out of a comfort zone.
I am always lsusteing to different styles and genres. I appreciate and respect what I hear. And sometime I like to show appreciation by experimenting with my own styles and combining different playing styles.

Keeping an open mind with what I hear, and see what matches with me and what I can do to improve my styles.

An artist likes to share their talents and abilities. Artists play a vital role in society, contributing significantly to cultural, social, and emotional well-being. Artists enrich our lives, encouraging creativity, empathy and understanding.

Fears of not being appreciated, and not being accepted for trying different ways to reach an audience.

As a teacher, more support for music and art programs through funding that would not be so difficult to obtain.
More job opportunities and proper compensation for the arts as a whole.
Definitely more mental health resources and wellness programs for artists who need a break when feeling overwhelmed.
and I also feel the industry should allow fans to interact more with their favorite artists as time would permit. We are all people who should work together, and the experience would be memorable.

I worked in retail in places such as Barnes and Noble and Sam Ash Music. I have also worked as a publications manager for the American Compoers Alliance. I currently am a Music and Spanish teacher at OLPHCAB in Brooklyn, NY.

As a Chorus director at my current job, I enjoy working with the kids and emphasizing the importance of singing as a group. My goal one day is to take the stronger singers and focus on harmony.

Sometimes as I work a lot on my own. But I do have a chance to talk to other musicians about their experiences and what they do that keeps them busy. However the people I speak to have their own musical commitments.

I look at my musical world as an empty canvas waiting eagerly to be full with many different colors and attributes of music.

Van Gogh - Starry Night.

Impressionistic art, and experimenting with selected colors.

It is never easy. You have to remember that when situations get rough, do not give up.

My kids. They are my reason. I want to leave them in a better situation when I am not here anymore.

Losing my voice while singing and having to make best efforts to not make it obvious!

I would like to make people happy with my music, collaborate with other musicians that may have similar backgrounds, and share creative ideas in general.

Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N' Roses because it was written by a hard rock band that shows another side to their style.

All Rose for his songwriting abilities
Freddie Mercury because of his vocal styles.
Michael Sweet for his guitar playing skills.
