Maxwell JS Perspective on Virgin Men

I'm Max, I like old samples, vinyl, house music, techno, acid, glitch, beats, 909s, 303s, korgs, Prohphets, and anything that makes cool noise. I try to experiment a lot and come up with stuff. Working on getting better at mixing and mastering myself.

I grew up on raunchy comedy, and I found I could license LaWanda Page so I did.

Prince, Purple Rain or Michael Jackson Thriller (can't remeber which came first).

House, Sample House, bit of tech house even.

I really started to figure out production during the pandemic. Now I'm figuring out and finetuning my areas of weakness... I'm all over the place so working on focusing on one sound style at a time going into 2025.

Sexy stuff, dark, moody, atmospheric, uplifting, emotional, etc.

Mr. G. I like that he plays shows from a MPC 2000XL

Dance music but deep and underground - conmplex but not.

Dance music, house and techno, but more lo-fi sounding and loopy.

To keep improving with each release.

I just find it the only way I can zone out.

Don't be a snowflake

On the backside of a cassett tape a friend gave me of his drum samples.

Just doing it and putting it out there is enough. Anything above that is a bonus.

In a past era of my life when i was a resident DJ, I accidentally stopped the music right after a pretty well know DJ was about to finish his set lol

Something by Rauschenberg (spelling) but don't recall the name of it exactly.

All of them really, I try new stuff a lot.

Anything from Daft Punk. Crazy they got some really underground sounds to go mainstream. We need more of that old school daft punk ability to cut through into the pop world.

My daughter telling me I should see what other people think lol

Abolish capital owner ship of DSPs and related distrobution agencies

I don't think there's such a thing for this. I just do it a lot. If that's practice, cool.

Weird question. I don't really care.
