Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

I'm Max, I like old samples, vinyl, house music, techno, acid, glitch, beats, 909s, 303s, korgs, Prohphets, and anything that makes cool noise. I try to experiment a lot and come up with stuff. Working on getting better at mixing and mastering myself. 

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I grew up on raunchy comedy, and I found I could license LaWanda Page so I did. 

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Prince, Purple Rain or Michael Jackson Thriller (can't remeber which came first). 

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

House, Sample House, bit of tech house even. 

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I really started to figure out production during the pandemic. Now I'm figuring out and finetuning my areas of weakness... I'm all over the place so working on focusing on one sound style at a time going into 2025.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Sexy stuff, dark, moody, atmospheric, uplifting, emotional, etc. 

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Mr. G. I like that he plays shows from a MPC 2000XL

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Dance music but deep and underground - conmplex but not. 

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Dance music, house and techno, but more lo-fi sounding and loopy. 

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

To keep improving with each release. 

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

I just find it the only way I can zone out. 

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Don't be a snowflake 

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

On the backside of a cassett tape a friend gave me of his drum samples. 

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

Just doing it and putting it out there is enough. Anything above that is a bonus. 

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

In a past era of my life when i was a resident DJ, I accidentally stopped the music right after a pretty well know DJ was about to finish his set lol 

What is your favorite work of art?
Answer:

Something by Rauschenberg (spelling) but don't recall the name of it exactly. 

Which mediums of art do you most identify with?
Answer:

All of them really, I try new stuff a lot. 

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

Anything from Daft Punk. Crazy they got some really underground sounds to go mainstream. We need more of that old school daft punk ability to cut through into the pop world. 

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

My daughter telling me I should see what other people think lol 

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

Abolish capital owner ship of DSPs and related distrobution agencies 

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I don't think there's such a thing for this. I just do it a lot. If that's practice, cool. 

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Weird question. I don't really care.
