Barry Jay Perspective on So Blind

I'm Barry Jay and i'm a songwriter. I work with incredible talents that are singing and producing my tracks. 

I know a couple that broke up this way and when I heard that it was over without any reason given, it stayed with me. 

ABC album from the jackson 5.  it was my first album and I loved it.  I new theme songs to TV shows especially mr. rogers and sesame street. 

10th grade, when I got told I was being kicked out high school band by the teacher, in the middle of class, I had to take a study hall in the empty music room next door.  In that room I taught myself piano and began writing songs. I loved writing them so when I graduated I moved to LA, CA to be a songwriter.  then also became a screenwriter.  

I would say acoustic, country, pop and adult contemporary 

I used to write bigger songs with more theatrical voices.  i've become more intimate with my songs and their messages.  I've gravitated toward more indie sound, more acoustic. 

Love, loss, survival, change of heart and some stories from the challenging parts of myself like "fitting in"

Elton John because i'm a huge fan and align with his messages and the heart of his songs and I freaking love him. 

elton is my favorite because he's versatile.  Rock star who also does things like the lion king. his early days he struck me as one of the best piano players i've heard, great voice that conveys the message and he's rock pop and the songs are catchy and poetic.
