Ross Davison Perspective on Candy & Coffee
Success as an artist to me is if someone, even one person, listens to one of my songs and has some emotional connection to a point where it makes an impression in their life. I want my songs to take you somewhere in your mind and heart and have it effect and resonate in you. I consider myself a success as an artist every time someone buys my song or puts it on a playlist of theirs.
The most memorable response I've had to my music was someone playing to me one of my songs, with such enthusiasm, not knowing it was me.
"You've got to hear this!"
'"Um, that's me"

An A1, V1, LD, PM, and Account executive. You know if you know.
I can't stop making music. It is in my heart/blood. I don't even consider myself a musician, even though I play most of the instruments on my songs, I am a songwriter.

I want people to create their own memories with my music, that is the ultimate flattery. To have someone say, your song reminds me of a time in my life, an event in my life, or this feeling, that is the best compliment you can ever get.
At this moment, my favorite song of my own, is Blue Morning, a tribute to old school hip-hop, and working people.
Other favorites are, My Baby, Losing You, and Candy & Coffee.
In this current time? An artist I would want to tour with? Soul Coughing. Emmaline, Larkin Poe, Mike Doughty, Beck, and Radiohead.
Elizabeth Frasier, her voice and style of melodies rings true to me, but to keep it to one person. I have so many more people I would only dream of working with.
Tom Waits, Santana, Joe Dart, Nate Smith, the list goes on and on...
My first release "The Delle Ave Sessions" is a mixture of Alternative Rock, and Piano based Instrumental soundscapes. Now I am playing more instruments, like guitar, and more soulful music, more Blues, Old school Hip-Hop, and soon will be some Jazz and Reggae.
Candy & Coffee is a bluesy vamp and goes well in Blues, Jazz, or Alternative Rock.
I grew up listening to my parents and their friends playing all sorts of Rock, Jazz, R&B, Soul, and Blues every day when I was a child. Candy & Coffee is a homage to all those genres, with the Blues and Jazz in the forefront.
I am a singer/songwriter from the United States, making music inspired by everything I hear. I play in a more Blues/Alternative Rock style.
I write all my songs and have friends who are amazingly talented play with me.
I don't "plan" on being a gamechanger, I just write something that I have never heard before or put in something that I think will peak people's interest, something different, that I think others might want to hear. Game-changing is experimentation, listening to the world around you, and making your own voice heard.
