How does your background play into this song?

Answer:

This song is more of a downer than some of my other songs, but it still has a positive spin which is my personality. I write based on where I am in that moment of time. I wanted to capture these feelings that I'm just "holding on" to be authentic but also help others know it's ok to feel empowered one week and down the next. It's human nature and it's ok.
