Duke Illington Perspective on Let's Roll

I don't really have a distinct way of producing music. It's really based on how I feel at the moment. Usually super organic when I'm in the zone.

Well for this song particular I wanted something for the ladies and I knew Nado could deliver. So with that idea I knew that Brandon Lee would be my go to guy to make everything fall into place.

I honestly prefer collaborating because it's really endless opportunities when creating.

Like I said before it's really based on how I'm feeling in the moment. I don't try to force things but I also like the challenge of coming up with dope concepts or ideas. But that feeling I get when I'm inspired really gets me going!

I really enjoy the actual creation of the song. Seeing the energy in the studio shift and people reactions really help me navigate where the record going. It's really a dope feeling to be honest.

As of lately it's been around like 25-50 beats. But I do have times where that can be cut in half . I been producing for awhile now so I'm at the phase where I kinda like taking my time and doing what make sense. Burnouts are never good haha.

Everyone that was involved really helped the production of this track from Nado smooth/gritty lyrics and Brandon Lee serenading chords on the guitar. I just added my little touch to top it off!

I would say really just use what you have. If you have friends that play instruments you should collaborate. If you use fruity loops try to use it to your best ability. Really what you can afford also cause those things do get expensive. But just use what you have first never know might make something special!

I use to be in beat battles when I got my start and it was a game changer for me! I never really knew anything about mixing your beats. I learned so much from other producers across the country and globe just from those events. It made a major impact on my production!

I love working with guitarist! It's just so easy to put together a dope record with the right player. The feeling you get is unmatched!

I feel you should go with the feeling first then all the technical things come after. The feeling will never lead you wrong! Then you just fine tune it.

Working with Nado when we did the "Roxy Molly" track we did it in like 20 minutes. The last 20 minutes of the studio session to be exact haha!

Well the sample of the woman in the background and the guitar really shaped the track. I just thought it felt good. The drums gave it that extra uh!

Probably Lex Luger if I need that hard trap feel. Or The Dream if I need that song that gonna be the one cause he a great songwriter for sure!

Idk I use so many different sounds I'll have to get back to you on that haha!
