We hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask Austin Miles anything!
How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I learned to be myself and not make music other people want to hear. Shout out to Rick Rubin, He said the moment he started making music for himself, not only was it more enjoyable but it captured more of what he wanted to showcase. I mean he's the G.O.A.T right?

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

It definitely falls under the Trap (Hip-Hop) category. But showcases the lyricism found in traditional hip hop while using catchy lyrics and melodic tones in the chorus popular in rap. This is definitely a well spread single, I just hope whoever hears it is able to find relatable lyrics and energizing emotion.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

During my Junior year of High school, I got a pretty serious concussion that more or less ended my football dreams. Fortunately, a friend of mine was kind enough to gift me their old Macbook. I've already messed around with garageband in middle school but had no idea what I was doing. But this time around I needed a new escape so I decided to focus as much as possible on learning the software. I eventually started recording myself using the apple wired/microphone headphones and posting on soundcloud. I definitely faced a lot of adversity initially but after a few years of staying consistent I got an email from AWAL and decided to give it significantly more focus. I started spending way more time working as an engineer in recording studios and studying everything I could about music.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

When I was very young, probably around 7-8 years old. I remember being in the back seat of a family member's car, and they had subwoofers. I'm not sure why at this particular moment I discovered I had synthesesia but "Elton John - Benny and The Jets" had me sitting in the back seat highly concerned but very intrigued with what was going on. It took a few years for me to talk about it, in fear something was wrong with me.. but when I did I learned about the phenomenon and I never looked back!

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I grew up in a college town. That town being the home of the University of Michigan, football has been ingrained into my lifestyle for as long as I can remember. I've alway been a huge football fan. With the Football season underway, I just wanted to make a song that can be used during workouts, in between plays, and as a marketing tool for the sports teams I grew up watching. those teams being University of Michigan Wolverines, and the Detroit Lions (the inspiration behind my cover art).

Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Hey! My name is Austin Miles and I'm an artist/producer/executive engineer. I spend as much time as possible in recording studios working with clients to get the sound that's in their head into the world as a tangible product. Being an artist as well definitely gives me an advantage because I'm able to speak their language, not just technical studio language. I also own and run BlatantDope LLC which is an online based record label focusing on the underdog. I firmly believe you don't need major label resources to create major label sound. I love empowering creatives everywhere to be creative!

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Addiction recovery, emotional tribulations, and the struggle of trying to be Okay with who you are in a world full of people you want to be. That's primarily my focus. I'm pretty reserved in person unless you get to know me so this is my way of sharing my thoughts and feelings about anything and everything haha.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Probably Tyler, the Creator. His music has traversed such a wide variety of genres throughout his career and his mind is just so creative. I feel like being able to witness his mind work at full capacity would be an absolutely amazing sight to see.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Listen to the background noises, don't pay too much attention to the focus material at first listen from a different perspective before you take in the face value. Try and notice the colors he's trying to portray, the emotion he's trying to emulate.. okay, Now listen to the story.
