Eddie King Perspective on Semicolon

Song reviewed by:
We are excited to share Eddie King's new track "Semicolon"! Our goal at SongBlog is to highlight outstanding new music and give you a peek at the artist’s world behind the music. In this blog we get a chance to sit down with Eddie King to learn all about the inspiration, concepts, and creative energy that it took to create and produce "Semicolon". We hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask Eddie King anything!
Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Georgia-based rocker Eddie King has emerged as the culmination of almost three decades of collaboration between the lead vocalist and guitarist Eddie King, rhythm guitarists Mancel Glaze & Brian Wilson, bassist Melvin Scudder, and a stable of talented support musicians including Nick Savage on drums, keyboards, and backing vocals.

Refining his vision at lightning speed, Eddie made his official debut on Thanksgiving Day 2023 with the release of his first single, Fallen, which just hit 22,000 streams and continues gaining momentum.

With a signature sound that builds on the foundations laid by legends from Jeff Beck and The Beatles to Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin, Eddie King is a pioneer of a new era of bluesy rock — one characterized by a distinct nod to the modern indie and alternative canons, as well as a reputation for resonant lyricism inspired by the essence and inherent beauty of life’s profound moments.

Now, Eddie is gearing up for his biggest year yet, with a series of new tracks and videos already in the works, alongside plans to release vinyl and bring his Songwriting, Vocals, and intense Guitar energy to the stage with a slew of live performances, much to the delight of his diverse and growing fanbase

I practice almost every day.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

Allen Peterson said this about my last single Semicolon;

Eddie King’s “Semicolon” is an evocative exploration of the human condition. With its rich emotional depth and dynamic composition, the track offers a powerful reminder of the strength required to confront and overcome personal challenges. King’s artistry shines through in this poignant anthem, making “Semicolon” a memorable addition to his impressive body of work.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I already am....

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

Streaming payouts and live performance pay to artists have to change.  If you're a working musician the pay scale is truly unfair.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

I have a story to tell that people can relate to and if in that moment of hearing the song the listener says, "I thought I was the only person that felt that way" and they don't feel alone and it brings them some peace for that moment... perfect!
