Elaine Lagon Perspective on Flattery

I am an American Alternative Rock artist, a UX Designer, and a musician on the side. I play multiple instruments and strive to be a full-time music producer.

I added my own style and flair to Aly and Aj’s cover song “Flattery”.

Wow! I can’t believe it’s been six years since I started playing drums at Creative Soul of Music. It feels like only yesterday that I was in the class room sitting on the throne in front of the e-kit nervously awaiting what I was about to learn. Little did I know, it would change my life forever. You see, when I was younger I took piano lessons, but then I told my parents that I wanted to stop. Next, was junior high, I sang in the choir at my school. I had fun, but again it didn’t really hit me. My best friend had always told me that I should take drum lessons because I was always drumming my fingers on the steering wheel, or my lap or anywhere. I couldn’t help it. I play to the beat of my own drum. I took her up on her suggestion and discovered later on that my hidden talent is playing drums. But it goes deeper than that. I had always been five months ahead of other students in the musical ladder program. That’s saying something. From that point on, I made it my mission to learn more. I started getting into guitar, writing my own music, forming my own band and then becoming a singer/ rhythm guitarist for another band. Things started to click after that. It didn’t dawn on me until some time later, that music runs in my family. My Mom used to play piano, my niece is learning too, my cousin plays drums and piano. It was bound to come back to me and I’m grateful that it has because I have made so many friends in the music industry, gained lots of music connections, plus I would not have any songs released with more on the way or the current knowledge of learning about music production and piano if it wasn’t for all of them. I graduated with a certificate in Sound Engineering in 2023 learning Logic Pro and am currently learning Pro Tools. My goal is to become a full-time music producer.

Pop, Alternative Rock.

My themes most likely are personal struggle, transformation, life experience, etc to produce powerful haunting melodies.

Evanescence, Within Temptation cause that's the style I ultimately want to play. I have a unique way of drawing influences from Evanescence and Fleetwood Mac.
