Sighdafekt Perspective on ????

I go by Sighdafekt. I'm an artist and producer from Tel Aviv, Israel with over a decade of experience in creating music. My work spans across multipale genres, with a deep foundation in hip-hop, Pop & R&B. Recently I've been exploring my sound in Hebrew, culminating in a the release of my debut Hebrew Rap album "Love Sounds".

This track is definitely a departure from the soulful side of my work. It's all about energy, hype and a bit of sleaze. It's a banger designed to get people moving. Growing up on diverse music, I've loved creating tracks that stand out and push boundaries. I feel like I managed to channel that raw, unfiltered vibe into something that unapologetically bold and in-your-face.

My earliest memory of really connecting with music was when I was about 8 years old. A friend played me an Eminem track while we were walking home from school, and that moment changed everything for me. From then on, I was hooked on rap, diving deep into artists like NWA, 2PAC, and everything Shady Records put out. I was fascinated by how these artists expressed emotions and crafted flows that hit hard. That early exposure to hip-hop not only shaped my taste but also led me to explore recording techniques like vocal layering and panning to create a sound that’s distinctly mine. Those early influences are still at the core of what I do today.

I think the moment I truly decided to become an artist was during those long, solo summers at my grandmother’s house. I spent two summers straight just diving into music—experimenting, recording, and having my uncle rough mix everything so it was at least somewhat listenable. I was only 13 at the time, and honestly, I didn’t really know what I was doing, but something about the process clicked for me. Those experiences stuck with me, and that’s when I realized that making music was something I needed to pursue. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore; it became a part of who I am

‘BARBI’ plays into the modern hip-hop genre, but with a twist. It’s got that high-energy, hype vibe that you’d expect from a club banger, mixed with a bit of sleaze that gives it an edge.

I feel like it evolved a lot. I started with a raw, energetic style rooted in UK hip-hop and alternative rap. As I’ve grown, I’ve explored new territories, particularly in Hebrew rap, leading to the creation of my album ‘Love Sounds.’ This journey has pushed me to experiment with different sounds, and tracks like ‘BARBI’ highlight this shift, blending high-energy vibes with a fresh, edgy twist that reflects my growth and ongoing passion for music.
