What is your overarching goal as an artist?

Answer:

It would be nice to be able to dedicate more time to it

Who are you and what do you do?

Answer:

REKIN 85, Music producer of Synthwave and retro Electro vibes

What genres does this release play into?

Answer:

Synthwave

What themes do you explore throughout your music?

Answer:

From sad emotional tracks to high energy uplifting

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?

Answer:

Too many to choose from but touring with Daft Punk would be epic!

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?

Answer:

Think Stranger Things mixed with Karate Kid and a huge chuck of soft focus low budget 80's movies

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?

Answer:

I only started publishing tracks in December 23 after sometime of dabbling and having fun learning the craft

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?

Answer:

Early 90's

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

Answer:

Again too many great ones to choose from but Freddie Mercury is the GOAT performer and vocalist

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?

Answer:

I think probably 'Heart Stings' because it's a very powerful, intense track full of sadness and memories

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?

Answer:

Lets go with Waveshaper because every track is awesome!

Also Phil Collins and Elton John, thats everything covered and plenty of variety

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?

Answer:

I'd love to work with Outrunner because his guitar solos are breathtaking

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?

Answer:

Something, anything, everything

Just to 'feel' is the ultimate success of a song

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?

Answer:

Spotify I guess because its what I've used to stream for such a long time, just don't expect to see many royalties!

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?

Answer:

Nostalgic, emotive, cinematic

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?

Answer:

I've never seen it as practise, for me it's more experience and knowledge that grows whilst doing what you love

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?

Answer:

I guess to be mentioned, shared or featured by top artists is the ultimate yard stick

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?

Answer:

I'd love to go back to proper music sales of physical material

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?

Answer:

I'm a Train Driver by trade

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?

Answer:

Movies, art, photgraphy

I love it

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?

Answer:

Loneliness has a negative connotation but it's about balance and sometime to reflect, relax and express by yourself is a very powerful tool

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?

Answer:

Don't expect to be successful
